When burning a new candle for the first time, allow your candle to burn long enough for the entire top layer of wax to melt for the first burn. A good rule of thumb is to burn your candle for 1 hour for every inch in diameter. The flame should be calm, steady, and away from drafty spaces. Try not to burn your candle for more than four hours at a time to prevent overheating, reduced fragrance, and the risk of fire hazards.
